Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy is a starting template and is not legal advice. It and any jurisdiction-specific terms should be reviewed and finalized with qualified legal counsel before launch.
Wallens ("Wallens," "we," "us," or "our") provides a personal finance application that gives you a close-up view of your accounts, bills, income, and budgets. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the website at wallens.app and the application at my.wallens.app (together, the "Service").
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service:
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and Google account identifier from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
- Financial data you enter. The accounts, balances, transactions, bills, income, budgets, scenarios, and related notes you add to Wallens. You provide this information manually — Wallens does not connect to your bank or import transactions automatically.
- Usage and device data. Basic technical information such as browser type, device, approximate location, pages visited, and log data generated when you use the Service, used to keep it secure and reliable and to understand how the Service is used. Some of this is collected through analytics cookies (see "Analytics and cookies" below).
How we use your information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To respond to your requests and provide support.
- To detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your financial data to serve advertising.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect aggregated, statistical information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We have enabled IP-address anonymization. This data is used in aggregate to measure and improve the Service — it is not linked to your financial data, which is never shared with analytics providers.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on, by using your browser's cookie controls, or by enabling a "Do Not Track" or global privacy control signal. For more on how Google handles data, see Google's Privacy Policy.
How your data is protected
Your financial data is encrypted at rest using per-user envelope encryption, meaning each user's records are protected with their own encryption key rather than a single shared key. Data in transit is protected using industry standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). Access to production systems is limited to what is necessary to operate the Service. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using reasonable technical and organizational measures.
How we share information
We share information only in limited circumstances:
- Service providers. Vendors who help us operate the Service (for example, hosting, database, and authentication providers such as Google), under agreements that limit their use of your information.
- Legal reasons. When required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Wallens, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us, after which we will delete or anonymize your data except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. You can also stop using the Service and request deletion of your account at any time.
Children's privacy
Wallens is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International users
Wallens is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand your information may be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
